Zone 5 to 19 is delivered by a team of NHS professionals, who have a range of experience and expertise in all aspects of children and young people’s health and wellbeing.

Our service has three main components or specialisms:

  • Public health nursing (school nursing)
  • Substance misuse
  • Contraception and sexual health

Zone 5 to 19 has a leadership team which includes a service manager, nurse consultant, community practice educator and team leaders. The service is supported by administration staff and receptionists.

The main clinical roles within the team are:

  • school nurses
  • health improvement practitioners
  • health promotion practitioners
  • screeners
  • substance misuse workers
  • youth and support workers
  • contraception and sexual health nurses
  • child exploitation nurse

We also have dedicated staff members, including a safeguarding team, that focus on meeting the needs of our most vulnerable children, young people and families. They work in partnership with social care, education and other partners to ensure you are fully supported.
